- Due to clashes between army and rebels (Conseil national de la résistance
known as "Ninja")
elections for six seats in the department of Pool have not been organized since the creation of the Senate in 2002. The total number of member has been 60 instead of 66.
- Renewal of 30 members of 60 members was organized on 2 October 2005 for the following departments: Brazzaville
Kouilou
Bouénza
Cuvette Central
and Sangha.
- At the same time with the renewal
by-elections were held for one seat each in two departments: in Plateau and in Cuvette Ouest.
- Election results were announced on 2 October 2005.
- Election results for the department of Cuvette Ouest were invalidated due to irregularities.
- By-election for Cuvette Ouest was held on 9 October 2005 and one male independent candidate was elected.
