The Seminar for Asia-Pacific parliaments on "Ending the cycle of violence against girls in Asia-Pacific" is being jointly organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Parliament of Bangladesh. It will be held from 23 to 25 September 2014 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The meeting will focus on violence against girls and discuss an effective parliamentary response in terms of legislation and enforcement. Members of parliament will be provided with up-to-date information on the situation in the Asia-Pacific region and special emphasis will be placed on the three most prevalent forms of violence against girls in the region - early marriage, sexual violence and domestic violence. The Seminar will serve as a forum for exchanging experiences and know-how. It will also enable participants to develop strategies and actions to effectively end violence against girls in the region.

The proceedings will take place in English only.
