The Regional seminar for Latin American Parliaments on the theme "Women shaping politics: gender, parliamentary representation and legislative agenda" will be held on 10 and 11 March 2008 in Montevideo, Uruguay. The meeting is organised by the Parliament of Uruguay, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, International IDEA, "Parlamenta" - a project of the Bicameral Women's Caucus - and the Political Science Department of the University of the Republic.

The aim of the Seminar it to promote discussion, exchanges and analysis of experiences, challenges and progress regarding women in parliament, their impact on the political agenda and the promotion of gender-oriented legislation.
