Mandate
Membership Riigikogu factions propose standing committee members and the Board of the Riigikogu confirms their appointment, based on proportionality and representation of political parties in the legislature. The Social Affairs Committee has ten members; the Board of the Riigikogu determines its composition for a period of four years. Members are replaced on the initiative of the factions, not according to an electoral cycle. Composition by sex: 4 men (40 %), 6 women (60 %).
