Mandate · To investigate and report on all matters relating to all public bodies dealing with gender issues. <br>· To study the programmes and policy objectives of the public bodies addressing gender issues. <br>· To assess and revise relevant legislation. <br>· To examine estimates of the spending of public bodies.
Membership The Committee has 21 members, selected according to political party affiliation. <p>Composition by sex: 15 men (71.4%), 6 women (28.6%)
Working methods The Committee devises an action plan for the financial year. The agenda for each meeting is drawn up with the approval of the Chairperson. The proceedings are public.
Relations with other parliamentary bodies The Committee has joint meetings with other committees and produces findings with other committees.
Relations with external bodies The Committee oversees the Ministry of Gender and is empowered to evaluate the activities of all public bodies, including the summoning of officials.
