A half of the seats renewed on 4 March 2009 were as follows:
- 11 seats in each of the country's four provinces (7 general seats; two seats reserved for women
two seats technocrats and ulemas);
- 4 general seats in the Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATAs
tribal zones under federal administration);
- 2 seats (1 general seat
one seat reserved for women) in the federal capital.
