There are no exclusive parliamentary bodies dealing with human rights issues in Parliament. Human rights as a wider concept encompasses the working of many committees, including the Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs. Human rights as a subject matter comes under the administrative jurisdiction of the Ministry of Home Affairs, which in turn falls within the jurisdiction of the Committee on Home Affairs. The nature and scope of the consideration of the subjects by the Committee on Home Affairs are purely contextual. |
