The Committee is composed of 29 titular members (PS-15; PSD-8; PCP-2; CDS-PP-2; BE-1; PEV-1) selected from candidates nominated by the various parliamentary groups. Members are appointed for the duration of each legislative session. |
| Working methods |
Under the Committee on Economic Affairs, Innovation, and Regional Development are two subcommittees: one on agriculture, rural development and fisheries; and another on tourism.
Agenda items are proposed by the parliamentary groups and by Committee and subcommittee members.
Committee sessions are public unless otherwise decided. Hearings may be held to get testimony from members of government, business representatives, citizens, etc. Decisions are taken by vote. Support is provided for the deliberations by the Committee's technical and administrative support services.

The Committee organizes joint meetings with other committees. Information is exchanged on subjects under consideration by various bodies. |

In addition to field visits, hearings are organized to get testimony from representatives of government, business, and individual citizens. Committee members participate in international meetings. |
