There is no specific mandate with respect to trade, other than to attend and participate in IPU meetings. |
Membership |
The Delegation is composed of eight titular members and three alternates. These members are elected in plenary session at the start of each legislature for a term of four years (the same as for each legislature). Membership of the Delegation must be representative of the Assembly's political composition. |
Working methods |
The Delegation meets and analyzes documentation sent by the IPU, selects topic interest to Portugal, prepares issues for discussion at the Organization's meetings, and prepares a report on each meeting. |
Relations with other parliamentary bodies |
Each report is sent to the President of the Assembly for publication in the Assembly's official gazette (Diário da Assembleia da República). |
