The Committee also pays attention to HIV/AIDS-related issues in the framework of legislative procedure or hearings and discussions of legislative proposals. There is no special law dealing with this issue in Slovenia. This was the only such debate regarding this subject organized during the current term by the National Assembly. It was organized by the Committee on Health with the cooperation of the National Institute of Public Health and was attended by professional institutions and experts, ministries, civil society and the general public. |

The Committee is composed of 10 members. It is presided over by a Chairperson and a Deputy Chairperson, the latter also being the only physician on the Committee. No special interest has been shown in HIV/AIDS by the Committee members. |
