The ruling Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) took 43 of the 48 directly elected seats (5 others are appointed by the President). 25 members were elected uncontested due to the boycott of six opposition parties, including the United Democratic Party (UDP), who accused the ruling party of biasing the poll. The UDP held four seats in the outgoing legislature. The National Reconciliation Party (NRP), another opposition party, won one seat. The remaining seats went to four independent candidates. |
