The 2014 elections were held to fill 38 seats in the 72-member Senate.
- 36 seats (six seats each) from the following six departments upon the normal expiry of the previous senators terms: Niari, Lékoumou, Pool, Plateaux (Centre), Cuvette-Ouest and Likouala.
- Two seats (one each from Brazzaville and Bouenza-Sud) following the death of the previous senators.
- Of the 38 senators elected in 2014, 10 are women.
- As at 19 November, of the 72 members of the full Senate, 14 are women. |
