Constituencies |
- 22 single-member constituencies for elections of the representatives of local.
- There are no constituencies for other interest groups. The elections of the representatives of functional interests are carried out in electoral assemblies by electors, elected by interest groups in accordance with their rules. |

Relative majority system.
- The candidate with the most votes wins the office.
- If two or more persons receive the same number of votes, a draw is used to settle the outcome (Article 21).
By-elections, where individual members of the National Council are elected if their term in office ends before the term of the National Council, are conducted no later than seventy-five days after the member's term in office ended (Article 4). |
Voter requirements |
The representatives in the National Council are elected on indirect elections.
- Age: 18 years or over on the day of the election.
- For representatives of functional interests: individuals who pursue a relevant activity or have established an employment relationship in Slovenia;
- for representatives of local interests: individuals with permanent residence in the constituency.
The electorate responsible for the election of members of the National Council is composed of:
- members of a representative body of the interest organization or local community in cases where members of the National Council are elected in the individual interest organization or local community;
- elected representatives of interest organizations or local communities, in cases where members of the National Council are elected in two or more interest organizations or local communities.
